Ways to lower GS650G

I adjusted the adjustable shocks and cut some seat foam down. I feel fairly comfortable and balance while sitting on the bike. I don't feel like I'll have a problem into and out of stops. Could always be better though. My concern is moving the bike backwards or forwards on my own. With only the balls of my feet firm on the ground it isn't super easy to move it back or forward.

Besides buying new parts and getting into alot of work, have I exhausted my options for lowering the bike? Any suggestions for me?

ever try the leg lengthening procedures they do for midgets? you know, break your legs, stretch the bones apart and have them regrow back together?? Sorry, couldn't help with the joke, I have the same issue because I'm only 5'6". I just have my gf ride on back and she weighs it down enough so that I can move it easily!

You can loosen up the pinch bolts on the forks and slide them up as far as they will go. You can also buy shocks that are an inch or so shorter.

Could you help me by directing me to a site or a specific brand of shocks to look for? I'm new at this and don't have an idea of what brand or product will work.

Sure, just check the Greetings-Basic Info-Vendors-Links page (otherwise known as the mega-welcome) on my website. I think the 650 uses a 13.2" eye-to-eye shock. Instead, you can install a 12.75" shock (like the "L" model uses"). You should take care as to clearance issues, unless you plan to ride almost perpendicular all the time.

Mine will be going out to them in a week or so. Funds is tight since the lay offs. I spoke with the guy that runs MB, Skull Enter. is his brother. Seems to know his chit about coils and the like. He told me that if my coils looked bad and he had the same dia. and rated springs, he'd just new ones for the same price of cutting mine.
