I would highly recommend NOT removing the diaphrams from the slides. Price out some replacements and you'll see my point. Are the slides that cruddy that they need cleaned ?
If so, protect the diaphrams and rub down the slides with some carb cleaner on a clean rag.
You don't want to get dip or carb cleaner spray on any of the rubber parts.
Also the o-ring on the needle valve seat that got ruined needs to be replaced with another one. It cannot be any old o-ring that fits from the hardware.
They need to be nitrile rubber, which resists breaking down in gasoline.

Sounds like you're moving right along. There will be hiccups in the rebuilding process, just take them in stride and keep up the good work.
    Good Luck.

Also can't recommend separating the diaphragm from the slide. All the ones I have seen were a very tight press fit. The chances of getting that tight fit back are rather slim.

On my cv carbs you can remove the needle out of the slide, ( the diaphram is riveted to the slide i believe ) and you are right they don't control engine speed they control air/fuel flow however if there is more air and fuel coming through because they are in the up position the engine revs higher and stays there if there is any grease on the slides until you throttle down.

When the carbs are bench synced there is a little space between the throttle plate and the carb body this is where the fuel and air are getting through, this coupled with a lean condition exasperates the problem.

Not all carbs are the same and this is just my experience.

Just trying to help avoid having a member go through the same trouble i did from not knowing what to expect.

The slides do not really seem dirty at all, just a little slick like they had gas on them, should I still wipe them down with a clean rag with a little carb spray on it? Then wipe them dry? also does anyone know if there are any shops like napa or O'reillys or anything like that where I could get the 1 o-ring I need tat is nitrile?, really have everything timed on this to reassemble them Saturday and that will not be enough time for me to get a new o ring kit from Barr.

Also, i really need an answer about that little screen with the plastic circle it is affixed to, that little plastic ring snapped on one when I was taking it off the needle valve seat. Also do you know what it is called so I can order a new one if I have to can't tell for sure on the fiche.

with the other parts that hold the carbs together did you guys just spray clean those or did you dip any of that, I reckon the gang plates are too tall to leave in the carb dip...

ANDRE this is the part. It is called the fuel inlet valve here in OZ.

              13374-35C00 for the "O" ring

              13370-44500 for needle valve assembly.

Thanks Don, I am only finding that number in AU do you have any idea if that screen is sold on it's own or what number it would be on this bikebandit fiche?

                Is it 49 filter?

Does anyone think it would be a problem for me to glue it together and smooth out the screen?

Turns out it is 49 on the fiche, Found a local shop that has them but he said you do not need them as you already have a filter before the gas hit's your carbs. Any opinions on this?

                    [quote=Dre;976322]this bikebandit fiche?

number 37 the Plug i forgot to order I am missing one, (lost to an air compressor) I put an eraser in it and rode a couple of months, seemed to be fine, when I took the carb apart last night it was still there, think it would be fine if I used an eraser again at least temporarily?
