    Buying 81 GS1100

Put this in Rode Ready Bikes for sale but figured I'd double the chances for feedback here.
I'm a heartbeat away from buying this bike, hell I'm going to buy it....
Just was looking for some opinions on it.
My present bike is a 80 GS550e, love the thing but want something bigger for longer rides with the wife on board.
I'm no expert on motorcycles, been riding about 3 years, is it an 81 and it's just GS1100, no e, or any other suffix ?
Think the price is too good to be true ?

    Thanks in advance everyone

If it IS an "81", it's a GS1100EX. It may be faded, but it's also been painted. The "81"'s were either dark blue with light blue stripes or black with red & orange stripes. Still seems like a good price.

Love that year, yes, in my opinion you did well. Hard to find those all in one piece anymore. Hopefully it operates as well as the auction says, if so you'll enjoy riding that bike for years to come.

My buddy had one of those in black back in the day, he named it "Death Wish" and had it painted on the fairing. Crazy fast and lots of fun.

Assuming it's in decent mechanical shape and doesn't need much more than a couple hundred $$ put into it to it to get it up to snuff, that's a pretty good deal, I think.

          Congratulations.
