you can take it to a car wash you just have to be a bit care full with where you stick the wand and it is best to let the bike cool down and that is generaly best done at home.

You soak down the ignition and you will be there a while.

Life is a balancing act, enjoy every day, "later" will come sooner than you think. Denying yourself joy now betting you will have health and money to enjoy life later is a bad bet.

Soem of the stuff to avoid should be rather obvious, but:
don't spray directly at your gauges
don't spray directly at your ignition switch
don't spray directly at your handlebar switches
don't spray directly at your seat (might punch a hole through a weak spot)
don't spray directly at right angles to any plastic panel (plastic can be brittle, you might break it or strip the paint)
don't spray directly onto a HOT engine (kinda rules out riding to the car wash, eh?)

Don't spray into any bearings (wheel, swingarm pivot) or chain
