    GS 1000 carb #3 dripping out overflow

    I'm going crazy with trying to finish up the VM26 carbs after a complete disassembly, dip, and rebuild. I've changed the float valve and seat, set the float heights, tried going up to 25 mm and down to 23 mm, all for naught. I'm going to try swapping the float itself with one from another carb that doesn't leak to eliminate that, but the float looks fine, and doesn't have any liquid inside. After installing the DJ Stage 3, she started right up, but I need to stop this leak so I can troubleshoot whether my stator is fried, or if it's just the regulator. Any thoughts, suggestions, etc. greatly appreciated. BTW, the PO told me that the #3 cylinder was fouling it's plug, but after setting the valves, the cold compression was excellent, about 180 psi in all cylinders, so I'm trying to figure what might be wrong in that carb body.

    Do the VM carbs have o-rings on the fuel rails?

      Yeah, they do, and the fuel tee is the kind that has a boot on each side, and the side that mates with carb #2 was fine, but the side that mates with carb #3 was deteriorated at the back half (the last part to fit into the fuel intake. I cut it clean at the back edge of the front half (the first part to fit into the fuel intake) and stacked multiple o-rings behind it to keep the front half at the same distance from the end of the fuel tee as the undamaged side. It doesn't leak at the tee, and seems like it should seal properly, but I keep meaning to order the type that is meant to use two o-rings on each side. Do you think that this may be the source of the problem? It seemed like a valid repair, but maybe not.

        Sounds like the floats sticking or the float needle is faulty.
