    Woo Hoo... I found a #3 Carb

I finally got a #3 carb. Now I can put them back together and see if it runs now that I have adjusted the valve clearences, replaced the Rectifier, cleaned the tank, replaced the petcock, and tightened the muffler bearing.

    Oops... I forgot the O-Rings.

Time to go to www.cycleorings.com to order some.

I wanted to ask a question. My poor bike has been sitting for years in the PO's back yard and it looks like it. Do you guys think it will be worth it to tear it down remove the rust and paint it? I have little time to work on it because I work 6 days a week and have to keep up 5 acres with 7 horses 4 dogs and a cat.

    Please let me know.

    Thanks guys

Maybe just a rustoleum job to keep the rust at bay for a while. Get her running and see how she treats you.

I was kinda headed in that direction because this is my first bike and I think I would die if I wrecked it after I restored it.

Bones, my bike is rather.....rough, as well. My first priority was to get it mechanically sound. After alot of work, time and money, it is. I still have some suspension work to do, but, it's rideable. Now, it's warming up and there's simply no time for cosmetics. I plan on riding as is this season and stripping it down to the frame next winter for a proper restoration.

Thanks Larry. I guess riding a um...rough bike is better than not riding any.

There is a certain freedom to riding bikes that are not beautiful.
