It's not from a GS. But who can ID this carb?

Well, in case anyone was wondering. I've got GS's a-pleanty running around my household. THat said, I have a little peugeot that's having some trouble with puberty. I bought a new carb for it.... And I thought I had a DellOrto PHBG... I'm wrong.

Now, to pick your brains, what is this?

I wish you all luck. I need it! :-)

    1982 GS650E (really, it's a 650)
    1983 GS550ES (42mpg again)
    1996 Yamaha WR250 (No, it's not a 4 stroke.)
    1971 Yamaha LT2 (9 horsepower of FURY.)

Sure looks to me like an older Mikuni VM..... You don't see too many of those with the "clamp" on style spigot. Maybe it's a Mikuni clone design.

Well there's the answer. TeiKei uses M5x.7 instead of m5x.8 like mikuni. or M5x.75 like dellorto.

What year is the bike? Why the rejet? Is there a turbo involved?

Holy crap. I hadn't even noticed. Time to drill :-) The bikes behaviour is exactly that of a bike with a clogged pilot circuit.

1978 Peugeot 103 SP. No turbo, but there's a tuned pipe, and two strokes!

Some Kaw's in the early 80's had TK carbs, there was very little available for them in the way of jets.

Those VM models are still available today, mostly used as racing carbs for snow sleds and 4wheelers from what ive read. Some guys over on the cafe forums were trying to affix them to their old Honduhs, with little success....

It looks identical to the one on my MZ RT 125.

Yea, those are ODDBALL looking jets ! I work for a M/C dealer in parts, and we have a whole slew of jets for virtually every carb out there, and I can honestly say I have never seen jet configurations like the ones posted above. Mikuni VM type jets definately will NOT work...

That is definately some type of Mikuni VM clone carb..
