82 1100e grounding

On top of the motor, under the carbs, near the cam chain tensioner...
Mine was bad when I got my bike also...stole the one out of the 750E I'm working on, so I don't know what they cost.

Pull the wire off and with the ignition on, ground it to the engine...the gauge should move. If it does, sender is bad, if it doesn't, wire or gauge is bad.

Thanks, I assumed it was the one that is, I believe, forward of the pressure switch. I had the motor out this weekend, drilling out broken exhaust bolts (oh the joy) so I got to give everything a good once over. As i button it back up I plan to go through all the connections etc.

I have sprayed and cleaned those connectors 3-4 times and its not helped yet.


Im starting to wonder if maybe there is low voltage or high resistance somewhere causing the module to some how trigger the idiot lights. Its my tail and stop that go on and off. Ive changed the bulbs with dealer parts but that didnt help either.....


Oh yeah....... Where is this "Computer" you speak of ???

I have new headlight relay (the warning module thing) purchased from ebay. It is used, so I suppose there is no guarantee... but I will report back if it solves my idiotic idiot light dilemma.
