    Coil wire info

I have an 82 GS1100EZ and foolishly pulled the coil wires off and don't remember which ones went to the positive side and which ones went to the negative side. It has 2 orange and white wires, one black wire and one white wire. Where do they go? I know there is only so many configurations but I don't want to use trial and error and fry something. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Might wait for a confirmation, but on aftermarket coils it doesn't matter. There is no positive and negative side. I would suggest getting a manual with wiring diagram though. Pretty sure Basscliff has one on his page.

Thanks, I'll take a look at Basscliffs page. I do have the stock coils with the marked + and - sides. Appreciate the info!

Thought so, the OW wire grounds them and makes them discharge the stored voltage, correct?

Actually, the orange/white wires supply current from the battery. The other wires are connected to the ignitor module which intermittently breaks the connection, causing the field to collapse and generate the high voltage for the spark.
