    82 Suzuki GS1100GK Clutch

I just replaced the clutch spring. I put it back together now when I operate the clutch the clutch handle does not return to the normal not engaged position.

Now I do Have not started the bike because I am waiting on piston rings to come in the mail.

I also have not put oil back into the bike because it did not return and I do not want to drain it to open it again if I have to.

    Thanks Again

You can take the clutch cover off with the side stand down and oil at full. When you put the clutch cover back on did you make sure the shaft gears lined up with the clutch actuator gears and the clutch lever on the cover was in the same spot?

Did you turn the actuator shaft CCW before installing the arm?

Take all the slack out of your cable up by the handlebar, take off arm on clutch cover, turn CCW and install arm. Use cable adj on handle bar to gain your 1/8" travel.

I did not know you can remove the side cover with out oil spill on the side stand. Is that Part of the problem no Oil?

I will double check to see if I moved it fully CCW then put the clutch cable back on.

        Thanks again
