If the bike was stored on its sidestand that's why 1 & 2 are worse than 3 & 4. The fuel made its way down to the 2 lower carbs.

I think you'll find that you will need new intake boots as well.

15 years is beyond their service life.

IT'S ALIVE. Thank you all for your help with this, it is amazing how something so simple can cause so much problem, and you were all right, number one and two were all gummed up inside where 3 and 4 were in decent shape.

Thank you Again for helping me save this awesome machine.

Good job rescuing another bike not ready for the parts bin.

What did you use to clean them? Did you replace o rings while you had them off? Glad its running, and not to be negative, but just pulling the float bowls and shooting carb spray in usually guarantees doing it again...these carbs are very sensitive, and there is usually no substitute for a full dip in the ol' berrymans, esp. after 15 yrs. Just sayin'...

Full breakdown as per the carb rebuild site linked earlier in the thread, and a good dip. They look brand spanky new now, and run like it as well, next is to time it and balance the carbs.
