    Remote rear shock control...

    Has anyone ever serviced on of the remote spring preload systems on an 1150?
    It appears to be just a simple hydraulic system. Mine may be a bit low on fluid...doesn't move the servo until it's about halfway through the adjustment range...pobably needs a bit of fluid in it.

    It's been done, just use regular hydraulic fluid for jacks and things.

      Looks like it wouldn't be too hard...use a spring compressor and preload the fluid a bit. be nice if they had put in a bleeder!

        I've had to do it a few times, using an old syringe (no needle). After removing the adjuster,run it all the way out, and disconnect the hose. Holding the hose as vertical as possible, slowly add hydraulic fluid. EVENTUALLY, it will fill with fluid. Reattach the hose and adjuster, and you're good for a while.

          Hey V8...
          I did something very simular...Since I had the whole thing out and apart...it wasn't bad.
          I used a syringe that would actually screw into the holes where the hose fit...worked both ends back and forth untill all the bubbles were out.
          Then Left extra in the slave section and forced fluid through the line
          ...attatched to the master part and preloaded the fluid a bit there.
          When I put the spring back on the shock...I'll bleed down any excess.
          I used power steering fluid with a bit of Lucas stop leak...see how that works.
          Took lots of picts and will post when I can figure out how to get decent resolution here.
