I would also order up new damper rod bolts (these are the bolts you're removing with the 8mm hex).

They are an oddball thread, and there's a chance you might booger up the head on one of them getting it out.

This is true on the booger up part. If you have an air impact drive use it to both remove and install those bolts. When installing I set the power to the lowest setting and just use it to set the bolt, then use a torque wrench.
