    SpitFire windscreen, who has 1?

Ok, I need some input from the guys with the SpitFire windscreen.
This thing does not have the adjustment range that the Hurricane did, so I am having a heck of a time getting it to sit on the headlight and rise up at the same angle as the fork
I can get the angle the same, but then it sits about 3cm above the headlight.
It is tough to attach this with the clip-ons,

    feedback

    anyone?

    Hi Mr. Clone,

As many times as I have talked about my Slipstreamer Spitfire S-06 windshield, you couldn't find one of my posts?

As you can see, I have mine positioned on top of my instrument cluster, raked back at quite an angle. This leaves my helmet in clean air that's much quieter than turbulent air, still protects my body from windblast and debris, but is not susceptible to crosswinds or passing trucks.

You can try reversing the support bars for more fitting options. Mine have the bend facing toward the rear. You can put the bend facing forwards and try different positions for the handlebar clamps or try swapping them to the opposite handlebars (put the wingnuts on the outside of the handlebars instead of the inside).

This little windshield does just what I need it to but I had to experiment for a while to find just the right position for me.

    Thank you for your indulgence,

    BassCliff

Hey Cliff, is this windscreen an after market accessory and available still to buy. I like the look of it and would not mind one myself. I like the way you have mounted it adjacent to the instruments. Do you know a supplier. Any other info greatfully appreciated.

      Thanks Cliff

        Hey Don,

A lot of aftermarket e-tailers sell them; Dennis Kirk, JC Whitney, etc. Or you can check out Slipstreamer's website to see if there is a dealer near you.

Slipstreamer is a leading windscreen installation for powersports and police & military face shield supplier. Contact us for quick quotes.

Oh, nevermind. Looks like they have dealers only in North America and Europe. I hope the shipping doesn't break the bank.

Slipstreamer's product page with the S-06.

        Thank you for your indulgence,

        BassCliff

With the regular bars, you have more adjustment range, I find with the clip on bars, I am limited. but I see you have yours sitting against the guages, maybe this is an option for me instead of the headlight. I will have to try that tonight.

I have the exact same one on my bike. I have extra mounts on my dual sport and scooter but only one screen. I just swap it around depending on which bike I am going to ride. Speaking about that, I did lose a screw with the butterfly handle for my mount. I need to get an extra one.

The "wing nut" is nothing but an allen screw with a plastic head molded around it. go to the hardware store and get two allen cap screws and tighten it up with a allen wrench.

Yes I have a spitfire also.

I attempted to mount my windscreen similar to BassCliff, but I think my handlebars are ever so slightly not centered, because I just couldn't get it to sit perfectly symmetrical. I think it's the handlebars, at least, because upon inspection it looks like there's more of the bar on the left side than on the right.

I think I may have it angled too deeply, though, cause it seems the windscreen's edge is angled maybe just at or just below the chin area of my helmet. It certainly helps fend off the windblast from my body, but I still get some air at my head.

I know Cliff and I are not likely of similar builds, but just so I can ask you, BassCliff, do you actually still get air hitting your head, or is it mostly deflected? Is the edge of the screen pointing at you as you look at it, or is it angled enough that it points over your head?

                        Hi Mr. Overdrive,

Here is a glimpse of me in 2-D.

I'm 6'-0" and 200 lbs. The windshield is angled so that my helmet is in clean air. The air coming over the windshield hits me a little above shoulder height. If the airstream over the windshield hit my helmet at visor height there would be a lot more wind noise.

                        Thank you for your indulgence,

                        BassCliff
