    http://www.thegsresources.com/_forum/images/smilies/confused Cylinder sleeve o rings

So I am now trying to put her back together when today I was going to start on placing the Piston back in when I started to read my Clymer. It shows I need Cylinder sleeve o rings. I do not have any and I do not remember removing them when I tore her apart. I also can’t find them on the Micro Fiches. Are they needed? Are they on this bike? 1982 GS1100GK
Thanks again for all you help.

it should have had them? perhaps stuck (flattened out) to the gasket? there are 2 different ones. which one depends on when she was built. part number:09280-21004 ending number 113974 and/or part number 09280-21011 ending number 113975. yes its needed. cliff

The motor code is U701-112215 the frame decal indicates mfg 4/82. (1982 GS1100GK Z)

I do have the pear shaped o-ring. I looked on the old gasket and did not see any o rings. I looked inside and did not see them either.

Sometimes when they get rebuilt the o-rings get left off. Some good engine builders here claim they don't reinstall them.

I have NEVER put them in ANY motor I've built & also NEVER had a problem because of it. Now watch, this statement will bite me in the a$$!! LOL!!! Ray.
