    Carb Sync Question

I just received my syncronizer. It's the motion pro model. It came with 2 short brass adapters and 2 longer ones.I don't understand why they're different lenghts. Are they meant to be cut or bent to fit. Also shouldn't the total length of hose adapter etc, be the same on all cylinders from the port to the syncronizer. How significant is it. Ie: would the reading be affected if it was a few inches more or less than the other cylinders.

    Thanks.

Eddie, they're meant to be different lengths so that you can fit them to a variety of carbs. The length makes no difference - it's the vacuum that makes the reading. I doubt you could bend them without messing up the holes in side the tube.

the reason for the two lengths is so the two inner cylinders get the longer ones, and stick out far enough to get the hoses on them.

Thanks a bunch Hampshirehog. I guess I'll put the longer ones on the inner cylinders if I can. Then the hose connections will be about the same spot. Glad I asked. I don't want to start wrecking it.

        Thanks. Eddie V

A longer hose will not affect the actual vacuum reading, but it will affect the damping a bit.
The longer the tubing, the less the gauge will bounce.
