Okay, Dunaeage and I put the carbs on. The next day Duane sychned them up and rode to my house. (about 25 miles) I then sat bitch and he drove be back to his house (another 25 miles). I then rode home .....so I guess that's actually about 75 miles. He mentioned the idle was set a tad high.

I have since, played with the idle knob . and have taken notice to the crappy vacuum hose. Now, a few days later. I'm having the idling issues at start. which is where we are here.

I would like to add, that Duane's help has been invaluable and ridiculous. Dude goes above and beyond. Just want to give him a shout here as he as taken care of 90% of the issues I've had pertaining to this bike since I got it in october. That said, I cannot rely on Duane to save the day everytime. That's why I got ya'll right

    I'm thinking it's vacuum hose.

Where does this vacuum hose go? is it the one from #2 carb to the fuel petcock?

Are you sure the plugs didn't foul with the rich condition?

          What I did:
          Seperated carbs
          Dipped all parts in Berrymans
          New o-rings installed
          Float adjusted
          Bench sync'ed
122.5 mains (seems to be rich)
Dynojet needle on third notch from bottom (also rich)
I also blew out all the ports and the pilot jets. I hope junk from the tank didn't get in those carbs!

yeah, that's the one in question. Like I said it has a slight crack at the top, but it's on beyond the nipple so...

I'm thinking that it is it.

              Sealed is good !!

I suppose get the new vacuum hose and try it. Is there enough there to trim off the cracked end and re-install ?
If you were able to ride it 75 miles, it would seem it's something rather simple.

I don't know if this would be the right approach. I would try to get it running on the choke, then adjust the idle knob until it's idling high and ease off the choke. Keep repeating until it's idling properly. Since you've played with the idle knob, you may have got it really out of whack.

Again, I'm not an expert on these type of things. It's just something I would try. I was very lucky with my bike. No huge issues, basically a valve adjustment and carb cleaning.

Hey Bill. I saw you called (how's that for customer service!) but I can't talk at work. I can only spend all my time on the GS forums. don't ask.

Would this cause these symptoms. meaning running only with choke? If it does that would be great! and I'm an idiot for not thinking of that.

My tank isn't bad, just looking at that as an option. Also I did raise up one notch to lean it out. (choke only issu was happening before and after I did this)

ok, is it possible? you had only "brit" bikes before this Suzuki. Since the fuel enrichment valve, (choke) is off when you pull on the cable and on when you release the cable.
Like Triumph, BSA Velo, Norton, etc. Are you actually applying the choke when you think your turning it off. Seriously, could you some how have hooked up the choke actuator backwards?
