left handlebar switch reassembly
Took the left handlebar switch off my 83 gs 1100 and found the contacts were corroded and also a ton of springs came out and a ball bearing popped out. Does anyone have a picture of where these items go. Any help would greatly appreciated. ThxTags: None

That's probably because we've all done that.
First time I took mine apart the ball bearing shot across the garage and ended up in some alternative dimension, never to return.
I was lucky to have a spare set of controls that I took apart very, very carefully...
I'm sorry I don't have any pictures or step by step instrucions for you...
I could probably put it together if I had all the parts in hand, but I don't know how I can help you here, except to help you feel that you're not alone.
Maybe one of our resident experts has more info...

Putting it back together with dielectric grease helps hold everything in place so you can get the housing back on.Last edited by bonanzadave; 04-28-2009, 10:59 PM.82 1100 EZ (red)
