    shaft drive uni joint.

In the process of stripping my bike i have noticed that the uni joint in the shaft drive is "notched" or lumpy on one of the joints.
Is this a common thing, does anyone know if it can be fixed? it appears to be a non servicable part?
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks.

It's not serviceable. You need a new driveshaft. Of course I have no idea what kind of bike you have but I don't think that matters.

I should have a spare for a 1000L if that helps. Check the parts fishe at the usual sources to see what parts interchange.

Does anyone know if a 850g '82 model assembly would fit onto a '80 model 1000g?
Edit: i will only use the uni joint. not the whole swingarm

I think they are the same from the uni joint back. You can always check the part numbers at http://www.flatoutmotorcycles.com/ & see if they are the same.....

              Thanks Dan,
I had a look but using that site and a couple of others i cannot even get an idea on an original part for my bike, it seems there was a change in part numbers or something?
I guess my question still stands, i think you are right though.

                    Thanks Nessim,
                    SkidmarkNZ,
I am quite tempted by your offer, they have a different part no. but i will do some checking. I have found one from a 850 in Sydney, but it i the whole rear swingarm and shaft assembly, and i am trying to get him to break it up.

Thanks for your help and the offers.
