    New tires

I ordered some Bridgstone BT45V 100/90/19 front and 130/80/18 rear for my GS750.
How much of a difference will going to an 80 series in the rear make? They dont make a 130/90/18 rear.
    Any opinions on these tires?

    Hi,

I would think a little less ground clearance and a little slower steering. You might not even notice, depending on how you ride.

    Thank you for your indulgence,

Your 750 has a 2.15” wide rear wheel so the max recommended tire size is a 120, not a 130. The 850/1000’s use a 2.5” rear wheel so the larger tire can be used.

        Hi,

Oops, Ed's right. The 120 is better for the 750 bikes. Wider tires tend to get pinched and mis-shaped on narrower rims. It can affect your handling.

The bike has a 130 /90 /18 now, and I know it is a bit big. Was more worried about the lower profile and whether my side stand will be too long or ?

I have the new tires mounted now and have a couple hundred miles on them. The bike feels like it lost at least 100 lbs, it is sooooo sweet. I feel waaay more confident in turns now, it oversteers nicely. I felt like a Mack truck before, now its a Ferrari
