    Feeler gauge needed for valves?

What range of sizes should I get for adjusting the valves? I've got a gauge that goes from 0.02mm to 1.00 mm, is that adequate?

I'm not sure if it matters which bike, but for the 8V GS's the range is 0.03 to 0.08 mm. So yeah, if you have those two you should be set.

If you had your bike in your profile sig I wouldn't have to guess (just getting to that b4 Steve does).

Whoops, 1981 650 GL, and a 650 GT for parts.

        Hi Mr. Rein,

If your metric feeler gauges go from 0.03mm to about 0.10mm in .01mm increments (the range is .03mm to .08mm), then you have all you need. Any more than that is just gravy. Make sure your gauge is not inches or it can get very confusing. In inches the spec is .001" to .003".

        Thank you for your indulgence,

        BassCliff

These are not "metric" gauges, but anyone with half a brain can figure what range you need.

The ones that I bought are in fact, very accurate, tested with my digital calipers, spot on measurements.

Sounds good to go. You are smart to check them.
