The parts fishe is shown below; O-rings are round in the drawing - #6. Are these the O-rings I need? I ordered them but not sure if they are the right parts. Getting these O-rings is the last piece of the puzzle keeping the top end from going back on the engine.

Oblong O-ring on base of cylinder?
Need to order a couple of those oblong O-rings on the bottom of the cylinder that seal the oil feeds around the cylinder studs.

Hey marz,
Thanks for trying to help.
The 3rd generation 750 engine uses external oil lines so they don’t pump oil up the stud holes like the other GS engines. Seems like a better design to me in terms of avoiding oil leaks.
Regarding the O-rings in question, found out the 1000G engine uses smaller oblong o-rings compared to the chain drive 1000 engine; my gasket kit is for a G and these parts are different.
Guess I’ll just keep my fingers crossed regarding the parts fishe showing the O-rings as round.Ed

I've only ever seen these come in an egg shape (same as the hole in the gasket). From what I've used in the past, the parts fische is a bit misleading showing them as round.79 GS1000S

Hey nessism, I have 4 of those weird looking oblong o rings if you want em.. They came in my gasket sets when I was doing the work on the 650. They do not go anywhere on my bike... They are all brand new, I ended up getting 2 complete gasket sets and each one contained 2 of those guys.
