fuel level measurement for carbs

okay because it really sucks to pull off these carbs and plus i dont have my clymers handy. Can anybody tell me what the fuel level is supposed to be and how long of a bolt do i need?

i did some digging and found my spec it is 6.5mm +/- .5mm i want to check fuel level not float height and to do that i have to have a bolt for the drain plug that is 6.5mm tall after the base o f the inside of the float bowl

Doh! Color me dunce.

Do you have a fuel level tester/meter/tube thingy that screws into the bottom of the float bowl? I've never used one so I'll shut up now.

i plan o n making one and just had a fantabulous idea if i drill a hole througha bolt and attach a hose t o it then i can make a level kinda like a manometer
