my 1980 gs 1100l
Hey ive had this bike goin on about 6 months now gonna ride it thru the summer and in the winter do a little restoration work to it i was wondering how rare is this bike cause i usually shave the emblems etc and if its a rare piece i will put it back as close to stock with just basic upgrades as possible it only has 26xxx miles and is pretty sharp i will post some pics as soon as i figure out how to get my computer to communicate with my camera thanks guysTags: None

If it really is an '80, then it is the chain drive 16 valver and kind of a cult bike amongst the "L" crowd.
If it is a shaft drive, it's an '82-'83 1100GL. While still a nice bike, that is much more common and not as highly valued as the '80 1100L.sigpic

When I bought my 750L all the emblems had been removed. The PO filled in all the holes and had the bike repainted. I probably get more questions from people who try to figure out what brand the bike is. I would still buy a bike if the emblems were removed. I suppose the purest would prefer the emblems. If you plan on keeping the bike, I'd make it look the way you like it.
