Amperage higher at idleI've narrowed my main fuse problem down to the amperage being 4 1/2 amps when at anything over a fast idle (2000 rpm and above). It rises to over 10 amps when idling (750-1000 rpm). I have the headlights on an independant fuse.

What is your voltage at idle and at 2000rpm? As voltage goesup amperage goes down, but you shouldn't have that big a voltage change.

 Amperage higher at idle

The good news is the problem has corrected itself. The bad news is, I didn't find a fault to correct.
I had taken all of the fairing and bike wiring apart looking for abrasions or bad connections. When it was put back together again, the amperage at idle was only 6 amps and at 2000 rpm it was 4 1/2 amps.
SqDancerLynn1, would you please elaborate on your suggestion? Exactly how can I take an amp reading if the stator is disconnected? Sorry to be so dense.
