    R/R, stator....wiring diagram question

Hello guys, Im going to be attacking the R/R, and stator this weekend....(Thanks duanage)........I was hoping to find a wiring diagram to use, I looked over on basscliffs site and am not sure which one I should go by? My scoot is a 1980 gs750 (16valve tscc) title has it listed as gs750C, I believe its an L LOl.....A point in the right direction is appreciated. I figure will Im at it I will chase wires and make sure connections are good and replace as needed. A little PM goes a long way( especially when your a long way from home) Thanks again, Eric

      Hi Mr. redsoxvw,

I think the diagram I have on my site is one from Mr. duaneage. The r/r is easy to wire up. The three output wires from the stator go to the three input wires on the r/r. The (green) ground wire of the r/r goes to the battery negative or, preferably, a good, clean frame ground. The red wire from the r/r goes into the harness (which goes through the fuse box eventually to the battery positive), and the black wire (sense wire), gets connected to the brake light at the brake light switch. The brake light switch is usually located under the rear master cylinder. Just pull apart the brake light wire and connect the "Y" connector from the sense wire. I have some guides with pictures on my website. Help yourself.

      Thank you for your indulgence,

      BassCliff

OK I commented on that before. The engine is a 80/81 750E, but the frame is not. It is something earlier. So just guessing the harness is still 750C So you need a 750C schematic still? My scanner is not working otherwise I have a color one.

Is it my imagination or just a weird camera angle that makes those forks look pushed in ?

The angle makes it worse then it is LOL, yes they are pushed in a bit ( new ones on the way)......The bike is titled 1980 gs750c ??? I know the engine isnt original, it been pulled and a weisco 816 kit put in it, I can go dig up the frame vin if that helps........

The last digit hidden by the wires is a 5

According to the VIN thats an LT frame year 1980. The VIN's for the L start GS75X-700016 ~ . If it was a 79 that X would not be in the VIN number. 81 and after went with 17 character VIN's.

                  I believe the 750C was a 1978 model. The VIN was in the format GS750-32608 ~ .
