    '84-86 750ES front fork fitment.

Will the front end of a '84-86 750ES bolt onto my '77 750?

    Thanks.

    An 84-86 750 ES doesn't exist... it's a 700

It could be an 83 & yes it should fit either way. No real advantage apart from the small wheel & clipons though. Ground clearance should stay approx the same as the forks are a bit longer.

I'm not looking for any advantage, per se, but I'm trying to go dual disc for the least amount of money possible. My last bike was dual disc and this one's just not 'stoppy' enough for me.

Forks are 37mm rather than 35mm so should be stiffer too. Not sure the 750 would look right with the small wheel & plastic fender though.

What about putting a front set off of an 80-82 GS1000, or 850? should both fit fine. They are also 37mm & look the same as what you have now.

Just because they don't have something in the USA doesn't mean it doesn't exist...

Very true... I should know that better than most. However this guy is from IL.

If it's a European model is should be a GSX750ES (maybe EF) I think... Not even sure there was a 750 in Europe in those years.

He might have a cousin in Europe or Japan who's got some & works for Fedex so flying them over free of charge I suppose... That's probably the only way to get a set "cheap" from abroad

              Poor Canada, forgotten again...sniff...

We never "lost" the 750, it stayed when you guys went to the 700. I may be going to look an a 1984 750e tonight... shh, my wife might be listening!

As to the original post I had heard that dual disc doesnt really add "more" braking power, just "smoother" and dissipates heat better, I am a bit of a newb though.

Oh.. you mean that big cold US state up there?

You're right... I'm a Brit & I forgot about you Canadians. Guess his cousin at Fedex could simply drive it through the tunnel...

Weird that they wouldn't just change it over to 700 for all the countries.

I would think the dual disk does more for brake fade on the big bikes than anything else. I think the dual disk is a little stronger though although I've only ridden 550 singles.

In honesty all the GS brakes are crap apart from reportedly the 1150 opposed piston model. That's why mine both run twinpot Kawasaki dual brakes with Honda CBR rotors.

                      Okay, here's a related question:

A guy near me is selling: "1984 honda nighthawk 650,39mm forks, it has dual disk with twin piston calipers fork brace, triple tree, brake lines, wheel, rotors $150"

                      And the big question:

Will it fit? I like the idea of 39mm forks.

Or, what would it take to make it fit?...

why not just go with a complete Katana or GSXR front end?

I'm pulling my complete 550EF front end off right now to swap on a 90 GSXR750 front end........straight bolt-on!

I have custom bar risers on the top triple with cafe clubman bars mounted, 89 Katana 750 front wheel/rotors/calipers, custom spacers for the front wheel (3.00 instead of the 3.50), custom made bracket to mount 89 Katana calipers to the GSXR forks.........2008 GSXR600 brake lever/mount, and 2008 GSXR600 master cylinder.

I will have $250 invested in total when this conversion is complete......not counting the cost of the Qualifier 110/70-17 tire.....which matches my Qualifier 140/70-17 rear

I'm just exploring my options with what I can find out here. So far all I've found is a '80 850 front end, and the Nighthawk front end I just mentioned. That just seems to be what is in my area lately.
