Going crazy, need help, battery trouble
starting last week my bike keeps dying on me. i drive it around all day no problems then go to start it up again, and the battery is dead. Thought it was the old battery so i go and buy a new one. Was all going good until sunday, drive it all day and then it is dead again, charge it until monday, then drive it to the VFW and go to leave and the bike is dead, mind you that was the only time i drove it that day, then today i drive it all day, and finally am sitting at an intersection in the turning lane, i wait for 2 lights with no signal to go, so i turn it off to not get it tooo hot, go to start it again and it was dead. what it going on, im tired of having to call for help in the worst places.Tags: None

I would look for a good stator, and hook up with Duanage for a good R/R.....nail them both at once. Then enjoy some riding.... Its fairly simple and there is a boat load of info on here

Hi Mr. dirtracer12x,
I assume we're still talking about your 1980 GS850GL. Yes, as the others have mentioned, go through the Stator Papers to get your charging system sorted out. See the supplemental guides on my website regarding stator replacement/testing and r/r replacement.
Might I suggest that you put your bike in your sig so that we don't have to search your previous posts to find out what bike we're trying to fix? Thanks!
Let us know how it goes.
Thank you for your indulgence,
BassCliff
