carb prob wtf
ok workin on an 83 gs1100 i set valve clearences changed plugs and went to sinc the carbs on carb 1 and 4 i had around 12in vacc and 2and 4 around 32in vacc and i cannot for the life of me get the numbers closer ive backed the screws totally out from one extreme to the other wtf gives here any suggestions havent really done anything to the carbs on this bikeTags: None

Sounds like you have some vacuum leaks. Did you plug the hose for the petcock?Ed

what other kind of info do you need vaccum is plugged have it hooked to a run tank cant get the banks to even out or really even get close its like i run out of adjustment is the only way i know how to explain it i know i didnt get screw up my adjustment on the valves is there anything inside the carbs besides the cv boots that could cause this cause they look decent thanks again

Did you bench sync them first? If two of those throttle valves are stuck partially open it could cause the problem you're seeing. It's a lot easier to see what's going on when it's off the bike.
More likely you have a air leak somewhere. Bad boots or o-rings. I suppose it's also possible the carbs were not correctly re-mounted and the adjustments are not properly aligned.

No i did not bench sinc the carbs the bike was running before hand just going do a tune up on it as far as i know the carbs havent been apart for the linkage to be outta whack where else could air be gitting into at that would cause the end carbs to sinc up and the middle carbs to sinc up but not equal out the two

Those bikes have an o-rings behind the intake boot. If the intake is not sealed you won't get even numbers.

boots
the boots are part metal and part rubber. There has to be a good bond between the two materials. It might have broken loose when you removed the carbs. Check that, too. Also look closely to make sure none of the boots are 'folded' and not actually sealing properly around the carb.

problem solved turned out my linkage was slightly loose i guess not allowing all of the ajustment
