Hi Mr. nelson269,
I know the '79 used a little different front brake setup (round brake pads) than the later years. But other than that everything should be the same. What I don't know is if the mounting holes for the calipers are in the same place. Maybe Ms. SqDancerLynn1 will stop by, she's one who'll know.

I believe they are the same. Even if the lowers are different you could still transfer all the internals into your lowers & use the uppers (I suspect you want to change due to pitted uppers?)
