I am hoping to find a carb rebuild kit for my bike. It is the strange one with only 2 carbs. I have had a hard time locating a kit for it. Any and all help is appreciated.

Get new OEM float bowl gaskets from a local dealer or a place like Flatout:

You need the (BS) CV carb o-rings kit from Robert Barr at:

You should be able to re-use all the other stuff - jets & the like...

Also get the intake boot o-rings from him as well (measure them & choose either the small ones or large ones, or just buy them both & save the hassle). Replace the phillip head screws holding the intake boots on with SS allen heads too.

Robert may tell you he doesn't carry o-rings for your carbs, but I have used them on the same bike & they work fine - you will just have extra rings because those funky 2 barrels don't use the same number of o-rings as the other CV carbs...

Make sure you completely disassemble the carbs & dip them to clean them thoughly - not doing this will just cause you pain & frustration & you will be doing it a second (or third) time if they are not clean.

Don't forget to adjust the valves as well - yours are easy with the 16V head (get a new valve cover gasket too)

be carefull taking out the diaphram if you split one suzuki want $70+ very hard to source elsewhere..I bid on a ziplockbag full of 550 carb parts on ebay and luckedout for $15

Good info here, thank you very much. A quick question, IIRC someone mentioned some time ago that these engines run better with a slightly larger float bowl, achieved by slightly increasing the thickness of the float bowl gasket. Does anyone have any experience with that?

Do yourself a favor, restore the bike to STOCK and enjoy the fine work Suzuki did. Messing around with silly things like thicker gaskets is a recipe for heartbreak.
