Electronic ignition swap 83-77gs
I wanted to know if it was possible to transplant the electronic ignition from a 1983 gs-x 750ex/z into a 1977 gs750B with points ignition. Will it work? would I need to swap the coils?

Pretty sure it doesn't.... electronic advance. I suspect the advance curve would also be wrong moving from a 16v to an 8v.

I used an electronic ignition fron an 82 GS1100L to replace the points in a 78 GS1000 shoved into a 750 frame. I remember having to modify the crankshaft bolt in order to get the reluctor on. Other than that, everything worked. I used the stock coils, and found a spot next to the battery box to bolt the gigantic metal CDI unit to.
