Fork Length?

Fork Tube Length?-Does anyone know how long the GS 750 chrome fork tubes are (I have a 1979)? I was going to buy Forks by Frank, but at $250 plus shipping, I'm trying to find a good used set online. If GS100 or 850 fork tubes will also fit, I'll have a greater pool to search from. I just missed a set of excellent GS 1000 fork with no dings, or pits in them. I wanted to buy them just for the chrome tubes-but I'm not sure if they are compatible. Please help!

Your fork tubes are 35mm in diameter ..

A lot of other GS fork tubes are 37mm so be careful.

Im gonna go out on a limb and say roughly 28 1/2". I think thats what mine measured when I rebuilt mine a few months ago. I know the center axle to top of the fork tube on the T was 34ish and the L was 32ish.

Plus you can look at 650s as well. Theyre the same Dia. and if Im not mistaken (depending on year/model) should be the same length.

Is that list for only the same size diameter of the tubes or is that total fork swapability? Either way, it gets me close. Thanks again for the input guys!!!

One more thing, by "top slider" you do mean the chrome tube right? Thank you!

do you have single or double front brakes , if you have single i have a good set of fork tubes just need new seals dont leak but i would change em , there from my 77 i changed to duel front brakes

Those are just the Suzukis I know of in the 35mm class. And yeah the top sliders refers to the chrome top tubes. I dont know if all are in the "swap" category though. Im running forks from my 1982 on my 80 and if I wanted, Im sure the ones on my 1983 GS650 would work as theyre the same axel to top length as well as 35mm dia. Infact I have a newish set for the 650 that came with the bike that are in much better condistion. Ill have to see if the Progressive replacement springs match between the 2.


Edit: seems there is a difference in the part numbers between the 750 and 650s so Im not sure if the 11-1108 (GS750) would still fit in the forks of the 650 sliders. (11-1106)
