    Rev counter, GSX750E.

A bit cheeky perhaps as I have only just signed up for this forum.

    I have a 1984 GSX750E and the rev counter won't read above 4,000 revs.

Now it's fang- dangly electronic one and the bike had been standing for a few years before I bought her.

Could it be a bad connector/ earth?

Or is it the needle sticking?

Are you able to strip the clocks to get to the needles?

    Is this a common problem?

I can't seem to find much info on these models as I believe they didn't sell very well and there's not many around now.

I also believe the speedo's under-reading, so that's something I need to investigate as well.

    Thanking you in advance, Ian.

Now the other thing that helps is taking the set screw out of the back of the brass section, cleaning the old grease out of that and putting in new lighter lube.

Thanks for that Clone. I'll give the screw regrease suggestion a go .

      Thanks again, Ian.

Ian, I picked up a GSX750 set of instruments recently in a job lot. No idea if they work and I was going to park them at the back of my garage (probably for ever). If you're interested you can either pick them up FOC or cover the postage and they're yours.

That's a very generous other. Thank you .

The bloomin' rev- counter won't read above 4,000 RPM and it's grating on me.

It's about 250 mile trek for me so postage would be good .

If you wouldn't mind keeping them to one side for a couple of weeks. I'll be very interested .

          Thank you.
