    dynojet kit install questions

Hey everyone, i got my dynojet kit and im gonna put it in today but i have a few questions. basically i think it says that i should have the idle all set and the carbs synched before i put the kit in but with pod filters the idles pretty retarded (thats one thing the kit should fix) and i dont know much about doing carb sync. do you need diagnostics or can you do it manually? my plan was to put the kit in and then sync the carbs and hopefully do any adjustments till it runs right. thanks

To do a carb sync you need a manometer. Most recommend a CarbTune or you can make a homemade one.

You don't need to set the idle and sync before installing the kit. Do it after and you will be fine.
I think you are referring to setting the idle mixture screw which is under the cap the directions tell you to drill and pull out.

alright cool, ill look into it. another question i just though of is this: the petcock on the bike has no switch to set it to prime or on, its just there. it looks like there is a spot where a swich could have used to be but i asked the guy who i got the bike from and he said thats just the way 1980's are, he tried to buy a new one and got the exact same thing. how do i prime it to get gas into the carbs once i get em back on? or is the petcock just broken?

The petcock isn't broken. In order to get prime you need to put the slot up and down "l" and suck on the petcock vacuum line. It will now run until you put it back to run wich is back and forth "--"
