    No Dyna S available for 1981 GS650?

I can't find a dyna replacement for my bike. My model isn't listed. What's up. Any have a 1981 GS650 with a dyna replacement? Which one did you use?

    Thanks you any help.

    Moonstoner,
Doesn't your GS already have electronic ignition?

Yes, but I think my ignitor may be bad. Intermittent weak spark.

I’m too lazy to look it up but someone here installed a Dyna S in a 650 and posted some details of what he had to do to get it to fit. If you search the thread should be in the archives.

If you have no luck with the Dyna, and if it will work, I have an ignitor or two from some GS750s that I would let go for silly cheap...they're 300 bucks-ish new, and HALF that would be rediculous to ask...Let me know, Im not crackin heads or trying to make money...just trying to help.

click buy product and scroll down (its the same as a 550 or 750) if you email them they will tell you the same thing but it would be cheaper to fix what you have. http://www.dynaonline.com/skins/prod...tbikes/dyna_s/

Howdya figure? A new ignitor list out at over $400. Doesn't the Dyna system bypass the ignitor?

It does, but to get the most out of a Dyna system you're gonna want new coils, (120 bucks a pair) new wires (prolly another 40 bucks) and new plug caps (another 20) so you're up in the price range of the ignitor anyway...however, its a system you can rely on more than an old Ignitor...

But, like I said, Ive got a few ignitors laying around...at worst, i think the only thing different bout them would be the connectors..which im sure you could easily overcome...If you're interested, let me know..It could save you a ton of money and time..
