The bike ran and idled great before cleaning. I changed the jetting for the 4-1 and pods I run.

Throw some 47.5 pilot jets in there.
Did you take the idle mixture screws out and change the o-ring.

          new pilots installed, no change.
idle still hangs then slows, then stalls
          16 valve motor
          compression good
          carbs spotless inside
          all new o rings
          pilot-47.5
          needle-middle
          air-150
          mixture screws-2 1/2 turns out
          pods and a pipe

advise on what to do next?

If the pilot air screw it 150 you should be running a 160 or 170. With the 47.5 pilot jet I'd go with the 170.

I'll order them tomorrow. You think that would be enough to cause my idle issue? I sure do hope so.
Also, i wondered if the needle should be raised a notch?

ok Bill, i discovered some 160's in my spare carb parts. I will install them and report back in an hour or so.
Now, how about the needle position while I have them off?

Well, it started raining pretty good here in SW Ontario so I will pick this up tomorrow and report back.

                  Thanks, Paul
