81 GS750E forks on an 82 GS750T??

I want dual brakes on the wifey's T.

Will it work?
What will change with the steering geometry? (Leading axle vs end of fork leg, or whatever they're called).

There looks to be a 1/4 inch difference in placement width.

E versus T Numbers

I expected a LOT of the suspension experts to jump on this one .

Published Numbers:

T Model: Caster = 62 degrees, Trail = 117mm (4.61") Stock Tire = 3.5 X 19
E Model: Caster = 62 degrees, Trail = 103mm (4.06") Stocke Tire = 3.25 X 19

I only include tires because that SHOULD make some difference.

The change should quicken the T's steering.

You can see in my signature that I have both. I'm a CASUAL rider... not on the edge of the performance these bike can muster by any stretch. I find that tires, handlebars, and shocks/springs affect handling more than the difference in front-end geometry. So I wouldn't worry about the difference in trail too much.

I also don't have a problem stopping the T with the single front disc .

The 81 E seems to have L model forks on it. I don't know, as I don't know the 81 E's. The axle is in front of the fork part way up, not in the end of it.

That's my thinking.
Not a big deal, since the wife is going to be riding it, but slow it by how much? A lot? Negligable?

My wife is a bigger gal, and having twin brakes would be an asset.
