    wonky fuel gauge

Any guesses as to what would make the fuel gauge veer randomly from accurate to "full" then back again, over and over? I've checked the wires, the connections seem clean and snug. Is it a weird vaccuum thing or something?

    thanks

you have a fuel sending unit going bad. That is common on cars when the slosh minder starts to go bad(that is what keeps it from rocking all around) I dont know for sure but im pretty sure its in your tank sender, it could be in the clocks too

The sender operates off a float in the tank.

      The float is probably bad.

Someone did a write up on this a few months back, do a Search
