I second the going with a 40 hole rim and hubs. 36 which were the common arent as common for a descent price. Iv been looking for a 16x3.00 36 hole rim for the rear for awhile with little luck.

A chart about rim to tire size.

Yeah 40 hole might be where its at , Id like to go with a 4.5'' -5'' rim on the backside and a 3.5'' on the front......any good places to hunt down a hub????

Why the 520 chain? Just curious...530 works just as well, and you'll probably have more luck finding offset sprockets for it, depending on what width rim you use. If you go with a big wide sucker, like a 4.5 or 5 inch rim you're not going to be able to use the stock 750 swinger. Ive heard tell of the 1100E alu swinger taking a 5 inch without trouble, but you'll have to modify the brake stay arm or it will rub your tire (you cant even get a 150 on there with the stock stay arm, ive messed with it.) Were it MINE, and i was going for a "classic" cafe look i wouldnt go as wide as you are talking though. Thats getting into the realm of modern, and frankly i think it starts to lose style points. Even if you went with a 3.5 inch rim, able to fit a 150 or POSSIBLY a 160 on there, you're going to have "over tyred" the bike anyway. that frame will not put up with as much as the rim and tyre combo will, unless you start into bracing (again, more money, and added weight) Im just spitting here though as its your bike. Are you looking more for the STYLE and look rather than the function?

My Cafe looks pretty in pictures, but she isnt all that when you start looking at her up close. What she DOES (or did till i tore her down again) was handle. That bike was probably more fun to flick than my 1100ES. Of course i cut probably 80lbs off of that bike, so it was down to 400ish, short coupled and twitchy. Made for some fun in the twisties...

I have an 1100 aluminum swingarm, and a modified brake stay arm.....But I do here what your saying on the style points......ughhh decisions decisions .......

As far as Style and look over function, yeah I guess Im probably leaning more toward style. I will probably never hammer corners LOL. Dont get me wrong I like spirited riding , But Ive always been a drag racer at heart.....(I was running a small block ford with a blower in the 9.6- 9.7 range for a few years)So im kind of a straight line junky.

Which also brings me to the question should I do the spokes or not.......the spoke wheel to me is hands down the better looker over mags.......But the more Im looking into it, it seems like for the wheel setup Im looking for it might cost a small fortune to go spokes, and I might be better off going with a GSXR rim (at least for my wallet) .....
