Please Help, I am at a total loss. Aka a Half Moon Problem...
I have a 1985 gs550. I had a huge leak from my Left Front half moon gasket on the valve cover, so I went out and bought a new seal. I replacedit about fifteen minutes ago. I goteverything all buttoned up and started the bike, After about 3 minutes of idling, the Front Left half moon seal blew out, completely, Oil just spraying everywhere. This is the same problem I had before.
I can't find anything anywhere about this problem, can someone please help me.Tags: None

If the crankcase breather is plugged up the engine will build up pressure inside. Worth checking out.Ed
To measure is to know.

Is there a breather tube on the top of your valve cover? If so, remove the cover and make sure the passages are open and make sure the tube leading to the airbox is open as well.Ed

Breather is on top of valve cover. Has a hose that goes to air box. If its plugged pressure will blow out seal.
