1980 GS850g won't idle anymore, possibly idle screw?

I need to update my signature I actually moved back to the Chicago suburbs a few months back.

There are lots more GS-ers in and around Chicago, too... you can't escape the GS collective by moving to the frozen tundra. We're everywhere...

I think there are more GS'ers out here than in California to be honest. Craigslist out here is always filled with GS's!

Can you hold a steady idle speed (around 1K rpm) using the throttle? I'm assuming the bike is completely warmed up. I see someone already asked you the same question earlier.

Yes it holds if I hold the gas. The bike doesn't have any problems running or otherwise, its just the idle when I take my hand off the grip.

I didn't see anyone suggest adjusting the idle screws. Have you tried running the bike with the idle screws at 1.5 turns out and then at 3.5 turns out. The traditional is 2.5 turns out? When my bike was running poorly and had the incorrect jets, 3.5 out worked best for me.
