the book says the 1 st gear is the main shaft, and 2nd is pressed on,and suzuki bonded on!!!,- never heard of that, but it says 2nd can be removed 2 times them the main shaft needs replaced, i dunno i havent taken it apart, and am not going to until next year, when i rebuild it and give it a bb kit, any ideas??????

No ideas but one question, where did you find a big bore kit?

Bent shift forks? If the dogs are worn you'll need to replace the gears, the book is right though, pressed on and technically can only be replaced twice due to wear and fatigue on the shaft from pressing on/off. I'm sure you could try it more than twice but the engineers decided it's best not to.
