    '77 gs400 - running a 16" rear tire

any ideas on how to run a 16" rear rim and tire?

The bike currently has a 36 spoke 18" rim.

Either lacing a 16" rim to the stock hub?

Or finding a complete hub and 16" rim from another bike?

    Please help. Thanks!

Should I post this in a different section to get a response?

      Sorry about that!

Yes the best way to do it is to run the 16" wheel, relaced to your hub. That way you can play (somewhat) with the width of the rim as well.

Are you after a Cafe look?

Many suppliers for the rims so options are open there.
      Hope this helps.

OH...make sure that you either buy a rim blank and have the spoke holes punched to match your hub ie. 40-count OR find a rim with the same spoke count. Lace patterns are up to you.

16" 36 spoke rims are getting hard to find. Least I havent had much luck so far. Ive found 15" and 17" but the 16 had alluded me. If you find a stach, hit me up and Ill do the same for you. Im sure theyre out there, just trying to find one for a decent price. /:shrugs
