    Converting GS550E to wire wheels?

Can a GS550E (triple discs) be converted to wire wheels SIMPLY using wheels from a GS750, etc? Any ideas .. or just easier to buy an early model and put up with rear drums?

Yes I would think so... May need to change the bearing sizes to fit the axle...

The bearings are different sizes on the drum brake rear wire wheel compared with the disc brake rear. The rear wire wheel has 3 different size bearings including the one in the sprocket carrier.
