While finding my rectifier wires, I found some of them to be heat damaged. Not totaly fried, but two of the connectors were melted together. I put on all new connectors, and put it all back together. I hope I'll find a fully charged battery tomorow, so I can do the test according to my manual.

I did the billy ricks rectifier test....
Well I did the billy ricks rectifier test. I couldn't get any results similar to what he outlined. I also tested my charger becouse it was on all day and didn't charge my battery. The stupid thing was dead. I borowed another charcher and am leaving it on till tomorow morning.

Regardless of what tests you have done, if your regulator/rectifier wires are melted, they have to go, still attached to the R/R.
You had to have a major electrical problem to get those wires to melt.
You need a new Regulator/Rectifier, and perhaps a new stator as well.
Print out the stator papers, take them to the bike, and follow them very carefully.Bertrand Russell: 'Men are born ignorant, not stupid. They are made stupid by education.'

If you checked it and did the test like I posted then your R/R is shot. Don't run it without a replacement. You already got decent readings on your stator so your R/R is your major problem. That and checking your wiring.

This is what im was afraid of.
I was afraid of that. I do want to do the running test on it. Im not sure if its just the R/R or if the stator is also bad. The batery is almost fully charged, and I hope to find that the stator is ok.

Another one bites the dustaaaa.....
Another rectifier has been a wrecktified.
It was not a pretty site to see the volts climb up to amost 17 as the rpm's rose above 5k. Actually Im glad it didn't drop bellow 14. I'm hopefull that my stator is still good. It passed the ohm test. I'll wait to get a new R/R before I do the runing test on it.
Thanks for tolerating all my posts as I waited impatiently for my battery to charge.
