Sheared starter clutch bolts, suggestions
I have bought a few different bits, but nothing seems to penetrate these broke off bolts. Must be stainless. My starter clutch seems fine, aside from the sheared bolts. If I get these out, I could be riding today. What drill bits should I get for the job???Tags: None

Colbalt bits maybe? I do know you want to drill slowly and with lubrication. I'd center punch the bolt first so you start near the center.Ed
To measure is to know.

Uhmmmm I wouldnt do that just yet...As i TOLD you before when you started this, simply repairing the starter clutch is AT BEST a temporary fix. There is more to it than just some bolts loosening. The metal housing gets out of round, and lets those pushers out of the house and into your oil passages. Ive FOUND the bits of spring in my oil pan from where it happened to mine. I suggest you REPLACE the starter clutch, not just try to bandaid it. If ya dont, you just MIGHT end up with that noisy crank you thought you had to begin with...
