    need alternative sources

Hey gang. I'm trying to track down some parts in a hurry, and the usual sources can't help in time. Dealers, on-line, nobody. Everyone is saying 5-10 business days, and I'd like to have this stuff by Wednesday. Z1 even told me to ask here if anyone can help.

The first item I need is the dowel pin that aligns the head to the cylinders. They needed to be removed for a machining operation, and one of them didn't survive the extraction. Plenty of places list them, but can't get them quickly. It's just a hollow dowel measuring 11 OD / 8.6 ID x 18 long. Does anyone have a suggestion for where I might find them locally? Possibly anybody with a bad head in the area that one could be pulled from? I wonder if I could get away with using a 7/16" slotted spring pin... of course, I'd have to find one of those.

The other item I need is Suzuki Bond 1207B. I've seen in other forums that it's the same as Threebond 1207B, and similar to Yamabond. I can make another round of calls to dealers looking for Yamabond, but I'd like to find the specific stuff that was recommended to me. I can also try some marine dealers, apparently, but I'm looking for any suggestions.

    Thanks in advance, folks.

The threebond stuff works good, if you find it, I'd use it.

If not, if you're in good with someone at a local auto parts place, they might can find something that will work ?

It'd have to be an auto parts store that knew what the hell they were doing though.

I'm reasonably sure I have one or two in my garage, but I won't be there for another week. Get with Josh, he knows how to get in, I can tell him where to look.

I like how they won't tell you what the dimensions are. Argh. I searched on that part number, and one place said that shipment could be delayed 37 day. Nice. I do know a parts store I plan to try, but I won't be able to get there until this evening. I don't have a lot of confidence that they'll turn something up, but it's where I'm going to find enough M8 studs for my header. I'll be asking them about Threebond products too, if someone doesn't have a better idea.

Thanks Steve. If I can't get local results soon, that's what I'll do.
