    Airbox warped?

I had my first attempt at reinstalling the stock airbox to the carbs on my 1983 GS1100E the other day.

I noticed that the inner two boots were not seating as the outer two were bottomed out on the carb bodies.

Is there a common fix for this (maybe something to add rigidity to the front wall of the box)?

Buy a new airbox still available, and less than 100 bucks including the new rubber bits..

I'm hoping there is a fix that involves a milk jug, a razor blade and gorilla glue ..

          Can you post a pic?

I just rebuilt my airbox. All the boots were off because there were rigid and old.

I ordered new boots and they fit perfect and snug.

Also, there is a top and bottom (at least there is on mine) to the boot. There is a little pimple on the boot that matches with a pimple on the air box. Just spin them around and look.

OK next time off I will look ..

No pics this time, but imagine the outside boots seating nicely while the inside 2 are still not slipped on the carb ..

I stuck a screwdriver handle through the airbox hole to press them on and held it as I tightened the clamp.

So, is the airbox indented in the middle where the two center boots are? Are you saying that when the two outside boots are fully seated the two inside ones are not yet even on the carbs? Or are the two inside ones just not quite fully seated?
