Secondly, while it IS a nice looking pipe, Its chrome, supertrapps were either SS or alu cans with a steel header. Also, the welds at the collector look hideous. I dont think "trapp" would have done that. Its got a nice up kick to it tho, looks vintage. Slip, if you really want this Kerker i have, and it will need some cleaning up, no rust, but it will need some fresh black paint, I will trade you even up for that thing. I dont want a black pipe on this 750 when i get to putting it together, because everything else is polished up so i want a bling exhaust too..

The discs are held in by a long bolt with a flat hook on the end that goes in that plate at the back of the pipe. The end cover has one hole that holds the discs in place with a nut on the long bolt. The disc are the regular Strapp discs with all the holes for the small bolts. Ive had a chrome Supertrapp on a KZ1000 years ago so I know they made them, and it was made the same way. What you choose to believe is up to you I guess, Im just trying to help here. Il send someone the pics if you want.

Woodman, do you have the bolt and end cover???? I could just get disc anywhere. That setup makes sense. I had a Supertrapp on my XR650L, and I could adjust the flow with the amount of disc I used, so this would be cool.

It will to a point, but if you think its going to make it BETTER that wide open, its not. IF you think its going to make it quieter than wide open, its not. If anything, it will be a little louder to YOU, and possibly more annoying on long rides... It will also NOT correct for an improper mix, so dont think that either.

The Kerker's have the exhaust clamp aft of the brake pedal right? I never owned one but I installed my Supertrapp 4/1 black on my 1000 back in 1982 and that ain't it.

Oh, yeah. The slip on i have you CANNONT (seemingly) remove the baffle from. I drilled out the rivet on the midpipe, pulled the can off and i just cannot see how it would come out of there..

Yeah there is a clamp just past the foot peg. Wow, the mystery continues. What kinda pipe is this???? The pipe sounds good most of the time, but there is a certain small segment of the rev range to where it just does not sound good. I will usually downshift to get past it.Last edited by Guest; 07-04-2009, 10:14 PM.
